IX.2.7 Pompeii. December 2005. South wall of shop.
Originally the middle zone of the wall would have had a central yellow panel and red side panels.
A trace of a rectangular painting could be made out in the panel on the east side.
The upper zone of the wall was white, and decorated with paintings of swans, candelabra and other typical architectural motifs of the IV Style.

According to Minervini -
“The floor of the shop was made from crushed black lapilli.  The walls were painted with several compartments of red, of yellow and of black with various friezes; in the lower part was a black zoccolo with decorations of green plants. On the two side walls were two preserved paintings, and two nearly entirely faded: in one to the left was a swan, in the other to the right was a bird, preparing to peck at some fruit. In the same wall was a small lararium. A white wall continued above the described compartments, with bands of different colors, and with suspended branches. In one of the paintings formed by those bands a vase was seen, and nearby a small thysus; in another a swan, and various decorations, including two candelabras with globes above. Higher up appeared traces of another wall, with paintings of foliage; but not observing traces of support beams, it was very likely that this was an all-wooden construction, which formed a mezzanine, to which one ascended on a wooden ladder.”

According to Minervini –
From the shop-room, by a threshold of white marble, one entered into another small room. 
The flooring was of opus signinum with a rough mosaic of white stones in the centre.
The walls were white, with panels of different colours, decorated with masks, birds and animals: then a drum suspended by ribbons, a small half-open basket, and another uncertain object. From here and there, on the two side walls, you could see a bearded figure, with wide tunic, who held a vase in the shape of a kantharos on his head with both hands. In the wall on the right are shown two Cupids, partly faded, and as many on the wall to the left, one with patera the other with lyre, and all with fluttering cloak: many times Cupid with lyre appeared in pompeian paintings.  
At the top of the wall, there are residues of stucco composed of a flat fascia with pretty foliage, and a curve with palm leaves and stalks (caulicles): in the space comprised by these two lines a hippocampus and two dolphins are painted.

According to Minervini –

The red zoccolo showed a panel with oval-leafed plants and compartments with a hanging disc under the separating cornice of the middle zone.
The middle zone presented a white panel, with wide yellow border and a painting of a trophy vase.
The south wall had a window overlooking the garden area.
It was in the centre of the wall between the two white side panels, in which were paintings of trophy vases (13 x 22 - vasi agonistici), now illegible.
The zoccolo was red.
On the west wall, to the north of the doorway, with a yellow central panel and a white predella below it, was a painting with Leda, now illegible. (see Helbig 143).
On the north wall, in the central panel, was a painting of Achilles at Skyros, but preserved only in the upper right corner. (See Helbig 1302).

IX.2.7 Pompeii. May 2006. Arched niche painted blue in wall at rear of the pool. This had a painting of a nymph who held in her hands a crater-shaped fountain from which water fell.   The painted water was continued by a jet of real water which splashed into the pool.

According to the excavation reports, and Helbig’s description, the garden walls were painted with
• a painting of a statue with a club probably Hercules in a garden painting, Helbig 1119.
• a siren in a green cloak with a flute in both hands, Helbig 898b.
• a winged sphinx fountain  with a marble statue set in a garden painting, Helbig 1778b.
